Note: It is a possibility that Archange may have given birth in 1834 to her daughter Henriette in the Wisconsin winter, in a Winnebago Indian Village, a Trading Post on the a river that would later be named "Baraboo." Her husband Pierre Barbeau traded with the Winnebago Nation at that time and represents one of a family line of Barbeau dit Boisdore Fur Traders dating back to circa 1700. Note: Canadian French women generally kept their given surname upon marriage during this period of time. Their children kept their father's surname. She was born and married in French Canada. Her and husband then resided in the Michigan Territory and in 1837 as American Citizens in the State of Michigan. Demise of Mrs. A. L. Barbeau

Mrs. Archange L. Barbeau, widow of the late Hon. P. B. Barbeau, died at her residence on Water street Monday morning at 6 o'clock. The deceased was 85 years of age. Mrs. Barbeau was one of the oldest residents in the city and had lived for 55 years in the house wherein she died. Two daughters, Mrs. J. P. Pendill, of Marquette, and Mrs. M. W. Scranton, of this city, besides nine grand children and six great grandchildren, survive her. She left considerable property
