Jerry H. Lambert
Special to the State
Marion, May 10- Jerry H. Lambert, one of Marion counties most substantial citizens, dies in a Florence hospital early Sunday morning and his body was brought here on the 9:45 Atlantic Coast Line train for internment.
Mr. Lambert was a successful farmer and a man upright in all of his relations with his fellow man. He was a past master of the local lodge of Masons and a consistent member of the Methodist church. Besides his widow, he leaves two sons, Henry and Willie Lambert and five daughters of the immediate family. The daughters who survive him are: Mrs. R. L. Williams, Mrs. J. B. Smith, and Misses Eunice, Thelma and Clara Lambert, all of Marion. The funeral service was held this morning and the remains buried in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Reasearch Notes
(In 1850 census there is a Hamilton Lambert, 4, living with a Mary Lambert, 62, and a Celia Lambert, 23. In 1860 census there is a Jeremiah Lambert, 14 living with a Mary Lambert, 6 and Celia Adkinson, 49 and John Adkinson, 50. In the 1870 census there is a Jerry Lambert, 24 living with a Celia Lambert, 45, Mary Lambert, 16, and Mary Lambert, 78. In 1880, there is a Jeremiah H Lambert, 34, living with Henry Powers, 67, Celia Lambert, 53, and Sallie A Lambert, 2. Celia is listed as Henry's sister, Jeremiah is listed as his nephew and Sallie as his grand niece. I haven't figured out what their relationships are but I think Celia may be Jeremiah's mother. If Henry is Celia's brother then Celia's maiden name would be Powers. I think Sallie A is Addie who is later listed as Havilah's step daughter....all censuses are in Marion, SCParker-11287 13:14, 17 April 2014 (EDT))[5][6][7][8]
