Alexander served in the Civil War as a Private in Co F, 192d NY Infantry.[1] He was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Grafton, Massachusetts.[2]
The 1880 census shows an Alexander Lambert in Grafton -- age 40; he and both parents born Vermont; laborer. Living with wife Josephine, age 33; children Annie, age 12; Orsoly (?), age 10; and Flora, age 2.[3]
