Biography

James was born about 1808. He passed away in 1850.

Probate documents from Linn county, Missouri, dated 6 March 1849, under John Lambert, it states that he "died, leaving no wife or children, but 7 brothers and sisters: William (in Virginia), Mary Ann, Thomas, Cynthia, James, Adam, Henry (all of Missouri)." James Lambert is the administrator of the estate. The papers dat beginning in Feb. of 1849. They show John owned land, with a reciept from the land office in Fayette, Missouri for the "East Half Northwest Quarter Section No 5 Township 57 Range 18 containing 16.25 2/100 acres", with another land receipt from the same office for the "North East (?) of Section 6 Township 57 Range 18 containing thirty nine 36/100 acres". The documents then show Adam B. Lambert is the administrator of the estate of John Lambert, "who had neither wife or children, but 4 brothers and one sister. Cynthia Overman, Thomas Lambert, James Lambert, Adam B. Lambert and Henry Lambert, all of whom reside in Missouri". It is signed 11 Feb. 1850. Within the same file is a list of property appraised belonging to the estate of James Lambert as given by Jemima Lambert, administrator, dated 16 Feb 1850.
