Biography

Charles Lambart, or Lambert, was born in 1681. He was the son of Oliver Lambart and Eleanor Crane. and was a grandson of the 1st Earl of Cavan.

He lived at Painstown, County Kildare, Ireland.

Charles married Hon. Elizabeth Hamilton (the only daughter of Lt.-Gen. Gustavus Hamilton, 1st Viscount Boyne and Elizabeth Brooke).

They had the following children;

Charles Lambart (b. Oct 1703, d. Dec 1740)
Gustavus Lambart (his heir)
Lt.-Gen. Hamilton Lambart
Elizabeth (m. 1754 Nicholas Ogle, Esq)
Eleanor (m. Thomas Elrington, Esq)
Mary (m. Christopher Nicholson, Esq of Balruth)
Sophia (m. Rev. Robert Gregory)

He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Kilbeggan, Ireland between 1695 and 1699 and then again between 1703 and 1713.

He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cavan, Ireland between 1713 and 1715 and he held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Kilbeggan, Ireland between 1715 and 1727.

Charles passed away in 1753 at the age of about 72.
