Matthew Lambert was baptized 9 June 1813 in Isleham, Cambridgeshire, England. In the Bishop's Transcripts of the baptism records for Isleham, only the name of the mother, Elizabeth Lambert, is mentioned, identied as a "Single Woman," and there is a comment which reads "base b" (i.e. baseborn) indicating that the mother was unmarried and that the child was illegitimate.[1] Matthew Lambert was married 25 April 1834 in Isleham, Cambridgeshire to Ann Harvey, daughter of George and Mary (Neil) Harvey.[2] He died in Newmarket, Cambridgeshire between October and December 1879.[3]
