Biography
On November 30, 1851, Hiram married Tamer Cartmill in Gallia County, Ohio.[1] In 1860 Hiram was living with his wife and children in Hamilton County, Illinois. He was 31; born in Ohio; a farmer.[2] Also listed with the family, relationship unknown, are Corwin Cartmel, age 14, born Ohio (could be Tamer's brother?)[3]; and Owen M. Lambert, age 9, born Louisiana[4]
Hiram served the Union in Company K, 110 Illinois Infantry.[5] He never returned home.
