Biography

Mallie and her husband Dale had five children, Nelle Cleveland, Flo Templeton, Preston Dale, Percy Dillard, and Douglas Eugene.

Mallie had some interesting experiences.

One of them was the time she opened the door to the unfinished hall of a house where they were staying in some of the finished rooms. There was a mountain lion jumping across the hall. You can bet that she slammed that door fast.

Another of her more "exciting" experiences was when she fended off the Night Riders at the front door of her home "Woodlawn," while her husband went back into the woods behind the house. She is said to have greeted the Night Riders on the front porch with a shotgun.

Sadly, after she lost her husband Dale, she lived for less than a year, contracting Pneumonia after being caught in heavy rain while riding in a buggy for a family funeral.
