Hattie Eliza Lancaster, 1873-1954, was born in Tennessee, the third of the six children of William James Lancaster and Elizabeth C. Epps. In 1880, the Lancaster family lived in Lincoln County (Grainger), Tennessee. Hattie, 7, lived with her parents, her four siblings, and an uncle. Her father, William J. Lancaster, 39, was a farmer.
Hattie Lancaster and J.N. Roddy were married on 3 October 1897 in Maury, Tennessee. They had three daughters:
Hattie E. Roddy was born in Tennessee on 6 March 1873, the daughter of (father) W.B. (W.J.) Lancaster and(mother) EPPS. She died, a widow, on 7 August 1954 in rural Red River County, Texas. [5]
Hattie Elizabeth (Lancaster) Roddy, a widow, died on 7 August 1954. She was survived by three daughters and seven siblings. Hattie is buried with her husband and their daughter, Pearl L. Whitney, 1903-1990, at Highland Cemetery, Deport, Texas. [6]
