Nathaniel Lancaster is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A068352.

Nathaniel Lancaster was born 24 November 1734 in New Kent (or maybe Henrico) County, Virginia. He made his Will 13 January 1809,and it was recorded 1 April 1809 in Prince Edward County, Virginia. Probate began on 8 May 1809, with Appraisement of the estate 10 January 1810. Settlement of a dispute among the heirs recorded in May Court 1811, Prince Edward County, Virginia.

Nathaniel Lancaster was married 19 April 1758 in Dover Church, St. James Northam Parish to Hope "Hopy" Walker, daughter of David Walker and (unless I miss my guess) Mary Bayes. They were the parents of thirteen children I am aware of. The marriage is recorded in "Douglas Register Church Records of Orange County Virginia" a compilation of notes by the ever-befuddled Rev. William Douglas (the wedding is recorded in both Orange and Goochland Counties).

Small point - Maria Margueretta's first married name was "Martini". She was the middle of 3 children born to Joseph Martini, a London wallpaper manufacturer, and Maria Petronille Hautefeuille. Their 3rd child was a boy, to whom Joseph was very attached. When the infant died at less than a year, his father was heartbroken and died shortly thereafter. He asked his good friend, Phillip Mazzei, to take care of his wife and daughter, which he did. Family lore says Phillip actually wished to marry the daughter. Phillip had business in Paris, where he met Thomas Jefferson and Maria Martini met Justin PP Derieux. Jefferson invited Mazzei to come to Virginia to start or improve viniculture there. The family was established at "Colle" adjacent to Jefferson's property. Maria Margueretta died in Virginia when Mazzei was away on business. She is buried in the Monticello graveyard "near Martha Jefferson," although the exact location of her grave is unknown, per correspondance between my mother, Elizabeth Warner Smith Sandquist, and curators of Jefferson's home. EWSS is a 3rd great-granddaughter of Maria Margueretta through Adelaide Jane Lancaster.

Lancaster-899 and Lancaster-521 appear to represent the same person because: Lancaster-521 has a more complete profile.

Lancaster-2914 and Lancaster-521 appear to represent the same person because: Definitely a duplicate

Didn't find Nathaniel in my initial search for Hope Walker husband. Thanks

Lancaster-899 and Lancaster-521 are not ready to be merged because: "My" Nathaniel Lancaster was born in Virginia. The "other" Nathaniel Lancaster, very likely "my" guy's uncle, was likely born in Middlesex, England. The "Uncle" was somewhat older than "my" Nathaniel Lancaster, as he was involved in legal matters (buying land or witnessing a deed or some such) when "my" guy was less than ten years of age.
