Zylpha Lancaster was born in Falling Creek, Wayne,North Carolina, (some sources list Greene County), in 1780 to the Quaker family of William Lancaster and Ann Oudelant. She married and had several children by John Cox, also a Quaker. She died in Hutsonville, Crawford County, Illinois in 1847.
