Mariah Landess was born on 24 March 1812 in Kentucky, daughter of Henry Landess (~1789 - 1855) and Catherine (Moler) Landess (~1791 - ~1827).

Mariah married Aaron Perry (born in Adams, Ohio, United States about 1805; died in Highland, Ohio about ~1840), son of William B. Perry and Sarah Wilson, on 16 May 1829 in Adams County, Ohio. Their children were:

- Mary Ellen (Perry) Thompson (1832 - 1912)
- John Milton Perry (1836 - )
- Silas A Perry (1838 - ).
