Research Notes

Her first name varies with sources: Kattern[1], Kattareen[4], Catherine, Katherine[3].

Katherine was born about 1632, based on her marriage in 1653, probably in New England. Jacobus marks her as [da. John] the brackets indicating that he doesn't have a good source. John of Milford, died in 1669. He does not mention Katherine or her heirs in his will, but mentions other children, and their heirs.[5] This leads one to believe that perhaps John is not the father of Katherine?

"John Tuttill and Kattern Lane was maried by the Gouerner the 8th of Nouem 1653," in New Haven Colony.[6]

Death 1669 Milford, New Haven, CT[citation needed]. Was this perhaps a misreading of "Kattareen Lane (per. dau. of John, who was of Miiford, 1640, and d. 1669, leaving good est.)"[4]

I have more information on Katherine Lane-251 with a list of her 11 children (mother of Tuttle-70). Katherine Lane's father's name was John Lane (1603-1669). He is listed in another profile (Lane-298) with his two wives:

1) Sarah Barnard-Lane (listed Barnard-3598 as the mother of Lane-251. Barnard-3598 was married to John Lane in 1640). 2) Mary Canfield-Camp-Lane (Canfield-600). Mary's first husband was Edward Camp (Camp-297) m. 1643, and John was her second husband m. 1662. Edward Camp and Mary Canfield's daughter, Mercy Camp-Baldwin-Briscoe (1646-1702) is my 8th GGM. I am a direct descendant from all these people in various lines. Please let me know if you wish me to merge/correct. Carol (Baldwin-3428)

Lane-251 and Lane-7157 appear to represent the same person because: these appear to be the same person, just different spellings of first name
