Biography

Lydia, born about 1836 in Chiselborough, was recorded with her father Edward in the 1841 census, possibly visiting a family friend in Dorset.^[1] In 1851 she worked as a glover and lived with her parents and siblings in a home on Fair Place, Chiselborough.^[2]

She married Theophilus (Frederick) Hooper in 1864 in Yeovil, Somerset.^[3] In 1871 they lived in Stoke Under Hamdon, Somerset, and had four children. Frederick worked as a groom/gardener and Lydia continued to work as a glover.^[4] By 1881 they had seven children.^[5]
