Oren Langdon ... [1]

Oren O. Langdon was born March 29, 1897 to Joseph Thomas Langdon (January 13, 1866-July 28, 1927) and Laura A. Kilburn Langdon (1870-1936).

Oren O. Langdon was born March 29, 1897 and passed away January 9, 1970. He was married to Jessie Mae Langdon on November 18, 1933. Jessie was committed to Nevada in August 1935 for incompetency. Nevada was in Nevada, Missouri at the time and was a hospital that was for those declared incompetent.

On April 1, 1937, Joe Oren Langdon was born to Oren and Jessie Philpott Langdon. Jessie continued to have problems with her mind. Her death certificate states a Brain Tumor. She was committed at different times to Nevada for incompetency. On February 17, 1941, Jesse was readmitted to Nevada for insanity. Joe Oren Langdon was a Down's Syndrome Baby. The family did not seem to realize this for a long time because Jessie's problems took center state. In February 17, 1941, Jessie Langdon was readmitted to a Nevada, Missouri institution for insanity. Jessie continued to be in and out of the institution until she died October 17, 1943.

Darlena Rudolph Bertoldie, now deceased, stated that Oren Langdon was a "good man, very attentive to Joe Oren and Jessie." In the U. S. World War II Draft Cards Young Men-1940-1947, Oren Orville Langdon registered as a 44 year old white male who was born March 29, 1897 in Webster County, Missouri. His next of kin is listed as Jessie Langdon. Oren lists his height as 6 foot and his weight at 195 pounds. He has a dark complexion and is bald. His eyes are brown. He registered on February 16, 1942.

Oren later married Bessie Hendrix of Conway, Missouri. Oren Orville Langdon and Bessie Elisabeth Hendrix were married on March 28, 1946 in Marshfield, Missouri. They had no children but she took care of Oren and Joe Oren. Oren and Joe Oren Langdon lived in the same house that Jessie had lived with them in on what is now A Highway. After Joe Oren Langdon passed away, the estate sold the house on A Highway to Faith Southern Baptist Church and they built their new church home there.

Oren O. Langdon developed Parkinson's later in life.
