A painting of the pastor and all his family (including those already deceased) can be seen hanging on the wall of the church in Grossenwiehe. A list on one side gives their dates of birth (and death where applicable).

Maria's last name was not "Lange". She was born Maria Jessen at Grossenwiehe, Slesvig, where her father, Johannes Jessen, was pastor at the church. Her mother was Margarethe nee Lange, the second wife of pastor Jessen.

(Information from a descendant, Anna Landt of Flensburg, who researched her family history from the 1900s to the 1970s.)
