Biography

NOTE: The Judey Walker Will - typed version (below) has been altered to substantiate a connecion to the Lankford / Langford family of New Kent.

You can find this typed & altered version frequently on the internet

The photo-copy shows of the Parish of { blank } in the County of Lunenburg

The typed - "Parish of New Kent & James City County in the County of Lunenburg"

Also her death date should read BEFORE 7 Apr 1752 as that was the date of probate of this will.

{1}What is the "prrof" that Judey Walker is the daughter of John Lankford??

{2} I guess she didn't care for the CARGILL name as her will is Judey Walker. OR COULD it be another Judey married the Cargill person.

• The will of Judith "Juday" (Langford) Walker - 29 Feb 1752 - Lunenburg, Colony of Virginia - Will Book 1, p.61, Lunenburg County Virgina.

IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I Juday Walker, widow of Tandy Walker, deceased of the Parish of New Kent & James City County in the County of Lunenburg in the Colony of Virginia, being sick and weak of body, but in perfect sense and memory thanks be to the almighty for the same, but calling to mind the certainty of death and the uncertainty of life, knowing 'tis appointed for all mortals once to die. I recommend my soul into the hands of the Almighty and my body to the earth to be decently buried at the direction of my hereafter named Executors and for what worldly goods and estate it has pleased the almighty to endow me with, after all my just debts and funeral charges are paid, I give and dispose of in manner and form following. IMPRMUS: It is my will and pleasure that my whole and real and personal estate that I am now possest of or may hereafter be possest with be sold at public venue on my decease and the money arising from the sale to be equally divided among my seven sons and daughters, VIZ: Silvannus, Tandy, William, Joel, Langford - sons, and Ann and Elizabeth - daughters. Now my intent and desire is that at the age of twenty-one each of my sons, and daughters at the age of eighteen (or on the day of marriage), receive one seventh part of the amount of my estate with their part of the interest that shall arise from the time the bonds are due, til the time they come to the age above mentioned. A years deed to be given to the purchasers of my estate or as long a time is my Executors shall judge convenient. Lastly I do constitute and appoint my good friends Ludwell Bacon, Silvannus Walker and Thomas Dupree all of the County of Lunenburg joint Executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all wills and heretofore made. In testimony hereof I here unto set my hand and seal the twenty ninth day of February in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and fifty two. Juday (her X mark) Walker
