Elizabeth was born about 1872. She is the daughter of Edward Lanigan and Anna Unknown.
The borders of what is now the state of Wyoming had evolved prior to Statehood in 1890. [1]
The southwestern part of the state, Uinta County which includes Fort Bridger [2], the area in which the Lannigan family lived at the time of the 1870 census, was previously part of the Utah territory.
This part of the Utah territory became part of Wyoming on July 25 1868. [3]. Probably accurate to list the POB for some of the Lannigans as Utah on census records for 1870; later census records would show POB as Wyoming, according to the state boundaries at that point in time. Something to keep in mind where looking at records for some members of this family.
