Biography
Elizabeth Cowan was born about 1812 in North Carolina. She married William Lanning, probably in North Carolina, about 1834. They were the parents of Martha (1835-1879), William Cleveland (1839-1910), Chevanah (born 1840), Francis Goven (1841-1897), Marian Monson (born 1842), Athera M. (born 1843), Andrew Jackson (1844-1910), Asbury Washington (1846-1918), Columbus T. (1849-1936), Elizabeth (1851-1924), Arsula (born 1852), and Ellen (born 1854). She died about 1862 in Henderson, North Carolina.
