Biography

Mahlon Egbert Lantz, Jr. was born 14 Jan 1916 in Aberdeen, Grays Harbor County, Washington.^[1] He appears on the 1920 census in Wishkah, Grays Harbor County, Washington.^[2] In 1930, he is residing in Glenns Ferry, Elmore County, Idaho.^[3]He was still living in Glenns Ferry in 1935, but by 1940 he was working on the Oleson farm in Wapello, Bingham County, Idaho.^[4] He enlisted in the United States Army 7 April 1941 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah.^[5] Although he enlisted as a private,^[6] he reached the rank of Corporal.^[7] He earned a Bronze Star.^[8] He married Elaine Grace Korbel^[9] in about 1943, probably in Minnesota.^[10] Mahlon died 12 Sep 1998 in Barnesville, Clay County, Minnesota.^[11]
