John Lapham (David, Jonathan, John, John, John ) was born in 1783, the son of David Lapham (1764-) & Sarah (Duncan) Lapham (abt.1766-).. He married 1) Lydia Norwood and 2) Nancy Guthrie Mosler. He had nine children :

2. Elizabeth Lapham born 1820; married Hugh Brooks.
3. Sally Lapham born 1826; married Solomon Snell.

John Lapham was born in Bangall, Dutchess County, New York and died 29 Aug 1875 in Mentor, Lake County, Ohio. He was buried in the Mentor Municipal Cemetery in Mentor, where his wife, Nancy Guthrie Lapham is also buried.^[4]

Research Note

The John Lapham who married Nancy Guthrie and was the father of John b c 1840 and Samuel b c 1844 was the son of David and Sarah (Duncan) Lapham. His first wife was Lydia Norwood. From the date of his marriage to Nancy, Lydia was the mother of John's first four children Nancy was mother of the last five.
