Biography

Judge John Lapham (David, Joshua, John, John) son of David and Judith (Smith) Lapham was born 7 Sep1793 in East Hoosick, Massachusetts. He married Zimrhoda Smith, daughter of pioneer Jacob Smith, who lived in Mertensia, NY. They are buried on their own property, in yard of their homestead. They had five children :

I Senator Elbridge Gerry Lapham born 18 Oct 1814, Mertensia
ll William Gray Lapham born 24 March 1816; died 25 Oct 1873
lll John Greig Lapham born 1823; died 1888; m. Sophia E. Baker, b. 1841; d. 1912.
IV Ann Mifflin died unmarried.
V Lyman Greenleaf married Sarah Jane Skinner. [1]

Judge John Lapham was born 7 Sep 1793 in Massachusetts and died 9 Mar 1860 (aged 66) in Mertensia, Ontario County, New York.
