Robert was born 15 July 1811[sic, actually 1814], the son of Lemuel Lapham and Lydia Magoun. He was a carpenter and builder at Mt. Bowdoin in Dorchester, Maine. He married (1) Margaret Sheppard; and (2) Rhoda B. Hause There are three children listed, the third is identified as the daughter of his second wife Rhoda so presumably the first two are Margaret's.

Robert M. Lapham married Rhoda B. Huse 28 Feb 1856 in Dorchester, Norfolk, Massachusetts. He was 41, she was 28. His parents are listed as Lemuel & Lydia Lapham, hers as Theophilus & Polly S Huse. According to the image it was his second marriage & her first; he was born in Pembroke, currently living in Dorchester, I think it reads that she was born in Orange Vermont & was living in Stowe Vermont.^[6]
