Britta Maja Larsdotter was born 2 May 1814 and baptized the following day. She was the daughter of Lars Andersson in Wåhle and his wife Märta Andersdotter.[1] It seems the family never lived there, but Brita Maja was born in the home of Märta's father.[2] We find Brita Maja with her parents at Åker in Ör parish.[3]
Brita Maja grew up with her parents until she left home to find work in Brålanda parish in 1828.[4]
In 1846 we find Brita Maja Larsdotter and her husband, Anders Olofsson, in Hällan with five children.[5] Brita Maja is widowed in 1856.[6][7] In 1864 she marries again, with Olaus Andreasson. For a while they live in Bäckebol[8] but in 1871 they are back in Hällan.[9]
In 1881 we find her in a cottage at Hällan in Gunnarsnäs with her husband Olaus Andreasson. If they had any children they will have flown the nest by then.[10] They are very poor and her husband is epileptic.[11]
Brita Maja Larsdotter in Hällan died 13 March 1892.[12]
