Jonas was born in August, 1701, at Gräshult in the parish of Södra Unnaryd, as the son of Lars Larsson and his wife Anna Larsdotter. He was christened August 11 and his godparents were Zachris at Nickelsbo, Oluff at Hylte, Märta at Vare, and Jon Berg at Hälghult.[1]
In June, around midsummer, 1726, Jonas married Sissela Bengtsdotter from Skälsarp.[2] The five to seven weeks leading up to midsummer had been very hot and dry so nothing of what had been sown had started growing. Around midsummer, the rains came but even if the crops started growing it was too late in the year for the crops to grow fully. There were lots of acorns that year, which were ground down to flour.[3] Sissela moved in with Jonas and together the couple had 14 children but only ten survived birth.[4]
Jonas was a farmer and a churchwarden.[5]
Jonas died of old age May 2 and was buried May 16 in the family grave. He had had 14 children, 27 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren, of whom ten children, 17 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren were alive by his death.[5]
