Lassiter-224 and Lasater-62 appear to represent the same person because: Same children and spouse, same dates - Lasater correct spelling , as in his will
Peggy, you are correct. I have seen branches of this family listed as Lasater/Lassiter/Lasseter. Sometimes a father would use one variation and a son consistently use another. It makes it difficult to determine if people are duplicates with different spellings or different people altogether. Most profiles have no sources for reference.
In early times of NW Arkansas, the spelling used is Lasater. I can show a plethora of headstones with that spelling such as https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/3137811 However, I adopted this profile and don't have a source for this particular profile. (Lassiter-224 has no real sources at all).... Do you have a source to support the merged profile spelling of Lassiter? Would be great to settle this.
Lassiter is the common spelling of the last name. All of the Lasaters should be merged into their matching Lassiter profile. If it is determined that Lassiter-224 and Lassiter-435 are the same. Then all profiles should merge into Lassiter-224.
The parents of William Layfette Lassiter (1724-1884) are also frequently listed as William Lassiter (1697-1766) and Rebecca Gunter (1700-1784). A source is needed to determine parents.
Lassiter-224 and Lassiter-435 have the same dob and dod. However, I do not see a record of a daughter named Nancy. Lassiter-435 may be a separate person with the wrong dates attributed.
