Joseph Latham was a horse trader and farmer. He was the son of Deliverance Alger and James Latham.
On 17 Nov 1717, Joseph married Sarah Hayward, daughter of Nathaniel Hayward (26 Apr 1664-17 Jul 1734) & Elizabeth Crossman (2 May 1665-26 Dec 1739), in Bridgewater, MA.[1]

He enlisted in the Canada Expedition and made his will on 02 June 1758 in which he named his wife Sarah, eldest daughter Betty Latham and daughter Sarah Latham. He must have died not long after as his will was proved on 09 October 1758, and his daughter Betty Latham of Bridgewater was granted administration of his estate.[2][3]
His inventory was taken on 19 June 1759 om Bridgewater.[4]
