Biography

Lucy Latham was born 21 May 1709 at Groton, Connecticut.^[1] She was the daughter of William Latham and Hannah Morgan.^[2]

Lucy married Ebenezer Avery, Jr., at Groton on 16 June 1726.^[3] The following children are listed in Groton vital records:

1. Hannah Avery, born 16 Jan 1727;^[4] married John Packer.
2. Lucy Avery, born 27 January 1728/29;^[5] married George Colfax.
3. Mary Avery, born 30 Nov 1730;^[6] married Youngs Ledyard, then Stephen Billings.
4. Ebenezer Avery, born 7 March 1732/33.^[7]
5. Latham Avery, son born 15 April 1735.^[8]
6. Katherine Avery, born 9 June 1737;^[9] married Daniel Denison.
7. Griswold Avery, born 25 September 1739;^[10] married Anna Avery.
8. Deborah Avery, born 1 February 1741/42;^[11] married Daniel Avery.
9. Rachel Avery, born 8 September 1745.^[12]
10. Elizabeth Avery, born 22 January 1747; died at age 18 in 1765.^[13]
