Biography

Mary Magdalena Lau was born in 1773. She is the daughter of Phillip Lau and Magdalena Gentzler.[1][2] Her father died in 1781. The guardians for the younger children Michael and Magdalena were their paternal aunt Anna Maria (Lau) and her husband Elias Eyster of Manchester Township. Older siblings Elizabeth, Henry, and Andrew were placed under guardianship of Casper Carver of Manchester Township.

Came into Court Jacob Smyser One of the Executors of the last Will and Testament of Philip Low late of Manchester Township deceased, and Prayed the Court To appoint Guardians to take Care of the Persons and Estates of Michael Low aged Ten Years, and Magdalena Low aged Eight Years, Two of the Minor Orphan Children of Philip Low late of Manchester Township deceased; Whereupon the Court do appoint, Elias Oyster and Michael Low, both of Manchester Township aforesaid, To be Guardians of the Persons and Estates, of them the said Michael and Magdalena Low the Minor Orphan Children aforesaid.[3]

Magdalena was buried at Roth's UCC, Jackson Township, York, Pennsylvania.[4]
