Sarah Maria Lawson was born on 13 July 1818 at Veteran's Hall, Prospect, New South Wales, Australia.[1] She was the fourth daughter of Lieutenant William Lawson, noted explorer and Veteran's Corps officer, and Sarah Leadbeater, a time-expired convict.
She passed away in infancy on 16 January 1819. She was buried on 18 January in St John's Cemetery, Parramatta (1W6) and was buried in the same grave as her brother James and her sister Hannah Ann, with the inscription "Also SARAH MARIA LAWSON
who died 16 Jany 1819 aged 6 months".[2][3][4]
