"Mrs. Ella Belle Baker, 93, widow of J. Ernest Baker, 41 Clayton Ave., died at 7:40 p.m. Thursday at the Williamsport, Md. Sanitarium. She had been in failing health for several years and was a guest at the sanitarium since November, 1968.
"Mrs. Baker was born at Ringgold, Jan. 21, 1877, daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Catherine Deitrick Layman.
"She had lived in the Waynesboro area since she and Mr. Baker were married. Mrs. Baker had made her home at the Clayton Avenue residence for the past 44 years.
"Her husband died in August, 1958.
"She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ.
"Mrs. Baker is survived by one son, Daniel B. Baker, Waynesboro, a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family.
"The funeral will be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the Grove Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. Dr. George Detweiler. Burial will be made in Green Hill Cemetery
"Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the services on Sunday."
