Biography
In the 1860 census Jacob Layman was listed as 59 years of age, estimating year of birth as 1801 in Pennsylvania [1]. In the same household was Elizabeth Layman age 58 years of age, most likely Jacob's wife and 3 young people with the same last name as layman, Eliza age 25, James age 20, and Adeline age 15 [1]. He passed away about 1868.
