OBITUARY. Mr. James F. H. Layman. It is with the most sincere regret that we have to chronicle the death of Mr. James Fitz Herbert Layman, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Layman, of Wonnerup. The news that Mr. Layman was seriously ill was well known throughout the district during the last two or three weeks, and while his wide circle of friends were aware of the grave nature of his illness, they were hardly prepared to learn of his early end. Deceased, who was one of the most popular young men in the district, and noted for his fine physique and genial and kindly manner, broke down in health some time ago, and after making somewhat light of his condition for some time, he took a sea voyage. On that occasion he visited the Eastern States and New Zealand. The change for the time appeared to have a beneficial effect, but ultimately the indisposition again manifested itself, and upon his return home during Easter he had to take to his room. Since then no less than four physicians have been in attendance, at times for days continuously, and everything the medical ingenuity and knowledge could bring into operation tried to combat the trouble. All efforts were, however, futile, and at 9 o'clock on Tuesday morning he passed peacefully away in the presence of the members of the family. . . .
