Lee Leavitt was born at Turner, now Maine in 1812, the son of Isaiah Leavitt and Lydia Ludden.
He married Betsy Briggs Jones at Turner, Maine on 1 Mar 1835.
The 1860 US census for Lewiston, Maine lists residents Lee Leavitt (46), employed "victualing", his wife Betsey (43), George Leavitt (9), a student, Almeda Alden, Lebetia H Jones and Sarah Whitman (24). Note: Almeda Alden is Lee's niece, the daughter of Leonard and Marinda Leavitt Alden.
The 1870 US census for Turner, Maine conducted 29 Jun 1870 lists residents Lee Leavitt (57), a farmer, his wife Betsey B (55), their son-in-law Oscar V Whitman (35), a farmer, his wife (daughter of Lee and Betsey) Rispah J Whitman (32) and their children Lester L (8) and Lizzie M (6), both students. Lee owns real estate valued at $3500 and has a personal estate of $1300.
Lee died in 1896 and is buried at the East Burial Grounds, North Turner, Maine.
