Jesse was born in 1796. He is the son of John Ledford and Amy Curtis. He passed away in 1875. Extensive probate records identify his children and several grandchildren.[1]

Wife number 2: Jesse married Marena McCurry on 11 January 1846 in Rutherford Co., NC.[3]

*ii. Martha L. LEDFORD[4] was born 31 JAN 1849 in Macon Co. NC, and died 14 JUN 1917 in Macon Co. NC. She married Humphrey David STOCKTON 29 JAN 1873 in Macon Co., NC, son of Reuben STOCKTON and Eliza LEDFORD. He was born ABT. 1851 in Macon Co. NC, and died 18 MAR 1934 in Macon Co. NC.
*iii. Cornelia Rachel LEDFORD[5] was born 22 SEP 1852. She married John R. Ledford, son of Ransom and Eliza Ledford, in 1874 in Macon Co., NC.
* iv. Jason A. LEDFORD[6] was born 14 DEC 1853 in Macon Co. NC, and died 11 MAY 1927 in Macon Co. NC. He married Lydia A. CARPENTER 10 SEP 1871 in Macon Co., NC, daughter of David CARPENTER and Sarah Matilda BALLEW. She was born MAR 1853 in Macon Co. NC, and died BEF. 1910 in Macon Co. NC.
*v. Cynthia LEDFORD was born 1854 in Macon Co. NC, and died 1883 in Macon Co. NC. She married David H. CARPENTER 11 FEB 1869 in Macon Co., NC, son of David CARPENTER and Sarah Matilda BALLEW. He was born ABT. 1845.
*vi. Melvin Lawson LEDFORD was born 18 FEB 1858 in Macon Co. NC, and died 20 MAY 1939 in Macon Co. NC. He married Sarah LEDFORD.
