Research Notes
According to the Gedcom records used to create this profile, Jason was born in about 1833 in Jackson, North Carolina.
The records also have a more exact date of death than we have sources for: 19 August 1882, in Hayesville, Clay, North Carolina, United States.
Further, Jason's Find-A-Grave memorial has an unsourced bio that claims he was conscripted and deserted a number of times from the CSA before enlisting in a Union unit (the 2nd North Carolina Mounted Infantry), which is memorialized on his grave marker. This can be researched.
