Catherine Delores Lee was the 3rd child of Marion Lee and Martha Gallagher. She had 2 older sisters, Lillian and Georgia, 1 younger sister Martha and 2 younger brothers, Marion and William. Catherine's nickname was Kitty. She married James Sahli on 27 Sep 1942 in Youngstown, Mahoning, Ohio. She had 11 children, 9 living, they are as follows: James, Catherine,Dean, Margaret,Leslie, Frances, Marilyn, Johnny and Bruce. Kitty's parents divorced when she was a teenager they had a pretty tough life after that. They were evicted from their home at one point and had to spend the night in jail (the whole family) because they had no where else to go. Kitty's mother found a job working in a munitions plant and things go a little better for them. After she married they lived with James's parents for awhile then moved to their own place. They lived in several places in Youngstown, then moved to Ellsworth renting for awhile. They eventually purchased a house in Berlin Center and she lived there until her death in 1968. She is buried in the Berlin Center Cemetary. Kitty had a damaged heart all her life and after a difficult birth at home of her last child her heart was damaged even more. Over the next several years she underwent surgery on her heart to repair the damage.
One of her traits that will be remembered by the people who loved her, was her ability to accept people at face value.
