July 13, 2001 , "Conversation with Aunt Georgia":
My Dad told me his mother put them in a Catholic Orphange in Cleveland when he was about 5 years. His mother was very ill. His brother Henry was about 10 and sister Ida was 3. His mother left some family jewelery with the nuns to be given to some relatives of hers that were supposed to care for Ida. When his mother died Ida stayed on at the Orphange for a short while and was then given to the relatives with the Jewerly. When Ida was around 11 she was loaned out to a preacher. The relatives kept the jewerly. Ida was sexually abused by this family and became a herion addict. Marion stayed at the Orphange for awhile then was farmed out to live and work on a farm, he was about 13 years. He ran away from them and was placed in a foster home where he stayed until he was 17 or 18 years of age. The foster parents name was Gueyser and the foster sister name was Opel. They came to see him after he was married.
