She was a passenger and died in the wreck of the Faithful Steward 'Also lost was one young lady "Pretty Polly Lee" of wonderful Beauty and accomplishment, called "the Irish Beauty". She was actually the daughter of James Lee and Isabella Bascowen Lee and named Mary Lee. There were many poems written in praise of her beauty.[1][2] Mary died on 9 January 1785 in Delaware, aged 54.
