LEIGH - MUMBY. The marriage of Mr. Herbert William Leigh (eldest son of Mr. and Mrs W. H. Leigh of Mount Morgan) and Miss Constance Beryl Mumby (only daughter of the late Mr. J. Mumby and Mrs. Mumby of Rockhampton, was celebrated at 11 o'clock on Monday last at the Campbell Street Methodist Church. The Rev. R. Pope performed the ceremony.
The bride, who was given away by Mr. C. Duffill, wore a becoming sleeve-less frock of brocaded crepe de chine trimmed with beads with a circlet of orange blossoms at the waist. Her veil of embroidered tulle was arranged with the cap effect, and trimmed with orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of white flowers with silk ribbon streamers. Misses Alice and Jessie Leigh (sisters of the bridegroom) acted as bridesmaids and both wore sleeveless frocks of pink crepe de chine trimmed with lace, and hats to match. They carried bouquets of pink flowers with pink silk streamers.
Mr. Henry Leigh (brother of the bride-groom) undertook the duties of best man. After the ceremony the wedding breakfast was held at the A.C.B. Roof Garden Cafe, which was tastefully decorated for the occasion, a feature of the decorations being a beautiful 3 tier wedding cake which adorned the centre of the table. The presents received by the bride and bridegroom were numerous and costly, including several cheques. [7]
