Richard married Mary Elizabeth Green Leigh (1839 - 1913). They had two known children:
- Sarah Margaret Leigh Fain (1863 - 1927)
- Mary Elizabeth Leigh Redman (1874 - 1910)
Richard passed away on Jan. 8, 1894 and is buried at Hammond Cemetery Highlandville, Christian County, Missouri, USA. [1]
