Abigail was born in 1683; in 1702, she married John Bullard, son of Benjamin and his second wife, Elizabeth Thorpe. The Lelands and the Bullards had adjacent farms near Sherborn, so John and Abigail likely knew each other well from childhood. Per E.O. Jameson's book, their children were: THANKFUL, [b. Dec 27, 1702], m. John Harding; JOHN, b. May 16, 1705; ABIGAIL, b. Dec. 4, 1708, m. Timothy Clark; HANNAH, b. May 12, 1714, m. 1733, Henry Daniels; MARY, b. April 7, 171 7, m. Moses Harding, res. in Medfield; COMFORT, b. March 2, 1721, m. Jonathan Wheeler; HENRY, b. Oct. 1, 1723.
Be very careful when researching John and Abigail Bullard. There was at least one other couple with the same names, very close in age, living nearby. John Bullard, son of Joseph and Sarah, was born in 1670, and married Abigail Warren in 1701. Births of Abigail Warren's children are listed in Dedham Vital Records, whereas births of Abigail Leland's children are listed in Medfield records.
