Biography

Birth

Hannah Leonard was born 15 March 1680 in Bridgewater, Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts to Isaac Leonard and Deliverance Ames.[1][2]

Marriages

She married-1 11 March 1697 David Newton of Marlbough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts .[3][2] He died in Marlborough 4 April 1702.[4]

She married-2 around 1702/3 Samuel Waters. According to her great-grandson Asa Waters, Samuel had some business at a distance, went away soon after he married, was taken sick, and died.[5]

She married-3 around 1708/9 [based on birth of son Ichabod] Nathaniel Manley, of the Taunton North Purchase, the area which in 1713 became Easton, Bristol County. The Manley home was on the west side of the road to Boston (Washington Street) just south of where present Elm Street (laid out in 1820) crosses the road today.[8]

Death

Hannah and Nathaniel died in 1753 within a day if not hours of one another, Nathaniel on April 21 and Hannah on April 22.[6]

Hannah LEONARD's first marriage was on 11 March 1696/7 at Marlborough, Mass. to David NEWTON, b: 12 March 1672 in Marlborough, Mass.; d: 04 April 1702 in Marlborough, Mass. Hannah, d/o Isaac and Deliverence (____) LEONARD of Bridgewater, and perhaps of Worcester. Hannah LEONARD was born at Bridgewater, March 15, 1680, and died, possibly at Easton, April 22, 1753, aged 73. Hannah married (2) _____ Nathaniel MANLEY (son of William of Easton), who died 21 April 1753, and had five children by him, namely: Ichabod, 1709; Hannah, 1711; Rebecca, 1714; Elizabeth, 1716; Mary, 1720.


Note

The will of Moses Newton Sr. mentions "My son-in-law John Bellows" in 1724. Also in another item gives to the "children of my daughters Hannah Bellows and Mercy Leonard"
Thus there is no question about this marriage.
Hannah and John had 10 children.
