Publication Date: 06/28/04 CALICO ROCK - George Nolan Lester Sr., 70, of Culp died Saturday, June 26, 2004, at his home. He was born June 9, 1934, to Lloyd Tilman and Minerva Elizabeth Wheat Lester in Calico Rock. He was a member of Calico Rock Mason Lodge and served in both the United States Army and the United State Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, George Nolan Lester Jr.; and two brothers, Delbert Lester and Tom Lester.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Lucille Lester, of the home; two sons, Steven Lester and Tom Lester of Culp; one daughter, Arminda Doggett of Anchorage, Alaska; two brothers, Lloyd Lester of Culp and Edgar Lester of Cashmere, Wash.; four sisters, Oma Cartwright of Optimus, Lillie West of Washington, Betty Brncic of Conway, and Gaye Idstein of Bull Shoals; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Culp Community Building. Arrangements are by Howard Funeral Home of Calico Rock.
