Biography

Christopher Lester was born 10 Sep 1763 at Groton, Connecticut ^[1]. He was a son of Margaret (Avery) Lester (1739-1771) and David Lester (1736-abt.1776).

As his father died when he was age 12, and his mother had previously died, the court assigned William Avery (1724-1787) (his maternal uncle) to be his guardian.

American Revolutionary War service: Christopher Lester was a Revolutionary War soldier; was taken prisoner by the British and held aboard the prison ship Jersey.

He married 10 Apr 1791 @ Groton, Connecticut, Mary Fish; There were several children of this family, born at Groton:

Christopher Lester died in 1827 at Groton, Connecticut. His grave is in Starr Burying Ground Cemetery, Groton, New London County, Connecticut, USA ^[6].
