Francis Marion Lester was a Confederate soldier in the Civil War. He died as a result of injuries suffered.

Burial: Lester Cemetery, Rockdale County, Georgia. [1] However the Find A Grave contributor states that he is actually buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Confederate Section, Richmond, Virginia, Section A, Row M, Grave 72. [1]

Francis enlisted as a private on 28 February 1862 in Company B, 35th Regiment, Georgia Infantry, "Bartow Avengers." He was wounded in action at Fredericksburg, Virgina 13 December 1862 and transported to Chimborazo Hospital at Richmond, Virginia, where he died from his wounds. He was twenty-five years old. Find A Grave cites a list called, "Rockdale County, Georgia, Confederate Veterans Burial Sites." [1] [2]
