Lester-1354 Denny Lester
Old cursive handwriting makes "S's" look like "L's", thus your "Lithe" is actually Sithe or Sytha, the spelling in my paternal collateral lines generation after generation.

The only "Lester" in this family, Elizabeth "Betty" Lester, did marry a Ballenger: " Benjamin Ballenger (see above sibling list). Sytha (possibly "Lucas") and Thomas Lester had a dau. named Sytha (Lytha, Lithe) who DID marry John Hines on 22 Dec 1802 s listed. She is NOT the wife of John Ballenger. Her mother, Sytha "Lucas?" Lester, married John (1 Mar 1789) after Thomas Lester died in 1787. John had previously been married, but he and Sytha, according to John's will, did not list any children other than his step-daughter, Sytha Lester Hines. [John's] Will written 2 Jul 1821, proved 20 Aug 1821.
