George came to Scituate Massachusetts around 1634 with his parents and siblings. The family moved to Barnstable 1642.[3]
Marriage and Children
George married in Barnstable, December 1654, Mary (Lombard) Lewis (1637-1710) (Lumbart in the cited record) .[4] George and Mary's children, all born Barnstable,[5]
George died at Barnstable Massachusetts 20 March 1709.[5]
Research Notes
Disputed Children
Sarah (Lewis) Hamlin (1681-1734) is often thought to be the Sarah Lewis born to George Lewis but she would have been 41 by the birth of her first child and 59 by the birth of her last child. At this time Sarah(Lewis) Hamlin's parents are unknown.
Thankful Lewis (bef.1683-abt.1769) is often connected to this George Lewis based on baptismal record.[17] But she is not listed in the town records with the rest of the family.[18] A 1990 published geneology of the Lewis Family[5] and The Geneological Dictionary of the FIrst Settlers of New England[19] place Thankful with George Lewis's son George Lewis (abt.1655-abt.1683) who died at the age of 27 just before Thankful's birth.
Marriage
According to Barbara Lewis Williams (1990), Mary was only 14 at the time of their marriage

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with George by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA test-takers in his direct paternal line.
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
This person immigrated to New England between 1621-1640 as a Minor Child (under age 21 at time of immigration) of a Puritan Great Migration immigrant who is profiled in Robert Charles Anderson's Great Migration Directory (or is otherwise accepted by the Puritan Great Migration (PGM) Project).

Bill, I read the Savage source and he agrees with that and there is a note in the bio to that effect so it seems that we should move her to George Jr. I didn't see any direct evidence of which George was her parent like a church record or will or anything, have you found anything like that?
The Barbara Lewis Williams genealogy quotes a will but I was unable to locate it and it does not list Thankful by name. The church baptismal record lists George and Mary as parents and not George and Elizabeth. This is a tough one to call
I was going to recommend following Savage but I was trying to get a feeling for how reliable people feel is genealogical dictionary was, and I found more negative than positive opinions.
From a biology standpoint, Mary Lombard would have been 47 when Thankful was born with a 5-year gap since the last child and my (limited) understanding is that while certainly possible, that would be very unusual i.e. the combination of age and gap between children specifically. So that would seem to lean towards George Jr. and Elizabeth as parents of Thankful.
I agree that the most likely scenario is that Thankful is the daughter of George Jr. & Elizabeth and was presented for baptism by her grandparents. I've realigned those relationships and tweaked the Research Notes - please check to verify I didn't inject any errors.
