A son of Robert Lewis and Mary Biggerstraffe, Charles Lewis was born in 1691/5 and passed away on 30 Jan 1730.^[1]

On 8 Aug 1713, he married Elizabeth Mary Horrey in Berkeley County, Province of South Carolina.^[2]

It is possible that Charles Lewis was a sea captain: The Register for Christ Church Parish burial record as printed in the The South Carolina Historical and Genealogical Magazine, Vol. 20, No. 2, p.126 lists Charles Lewis as Captain Charles Lewis. This supports the opinion expressed in "Beatys of Kingston".
