Isaac was born in 1692 to Capt. Edward Lewis, b. 1670, d. 1712, Chowan Precinct, Albermarle, North Carolina and his wife Bridgett. [1]
He was married Margaret Hooker c. 1713. [1] She and their son, William are named in her father's will dated June 8, 1716. [2] They had issue:
Issac Lewis was living in Chowan Precinct, North Carolina in 1713 when he was witness to a deed:

Also the same year his mother Bridgett granted him power of attorney:

Bridgett Brown , shall at this time or from time to time bring action against and likewise to Defend any action brought against me Wit. Treddell Keefe, Mary Lewis m her mark Reg. (not given) [4]
These two transactions relate to an original transaction that had taken place a year earlier and was witnessed by another Lewis:

Issac purchased 150 acres from William Maule on 11 February 1718 on the north side of Horse Swamp. Abraham Blewett and John Nairn were witnesses. [7]
This was the same land for which he had been issued a patent. However since he had not settled or cleared it, the patent was vacated. By petition of Mr. Maule it was granted afterwards:

May Court 1740. [9]
Isaac died before 21 Apr 1743 as his Estate was inventoried in Bertie County, NC by his wife Margaret.[10] [11]
Either Issac is still living in 1752 or the Issac mentioned here is his son: PAUL PENDER deed to THOMAS SPARKMAN of Chowan Co. 18 Oct. 1754, £26 plus £4 “in credit paid in goods at Virginia store” for 350 acres on Wiccacon Creek at Horse Swamp adj. ISAAC LEWIS, LAZARUS THOMAS and WILLIAM WARREN, part of 1 Mar. 1721 patent to JOHN EARLY JR. JOHN BRICKELL and JAMES COFFIELD, witness. Entered Nov. Ct. 1754. [12]
Again in 1759 Issac appears in a conveyance. Either him or his son, but he would be 67 years old, certainly reasonable to assume it is him. THOMAS SPARKMAN of Chowan Co. deed to JAMES SPARKMAN of Bertie 16 Apr. 1759; £18 proclamation for 175 acres adjacent Wiccacon Creek, Horse Swamp, ISAAC LEWIS, Deep Branch, part of 1 Mar. 1721 patent to JOHN EARLY JR. THOMAS HARRELL and JOHN (x) BROWN, witness. Entered Apr. Ct. 1759.[13]
This is not verified. His grandparents said to be :Thomas Lewis was born 1640 in Peters Church, Herefordshire, England, died in Peters Church, Herefordshire, England. He married Ann.He most likely had more than one son. [14]
The accuracy of the early relationships is not known, as it is so far unsourced.
